TRNAUS

TRNAUS is an extension package for TRNSYS version15 for simulating thermosyphon solar water heaters, heat pump water heaters, stratified storage tanks with heat exchangers and a range of control modules.

The TRNAUS manual describes the modelling routines and the TRNSYS parameter, input and output lists.

Extensions include programming for

• extended thermosyphon loop modelling for flat plate and evacuated tube solar collectors

• over-temperature cut-off valve for thermosyphon loop

• heat exchangers in thermosyphon loops

• serpentine riser solar collectors in thermosiphon loops

• reverse flow in thermosyphon systems

• heat pipe coupling between a solar collector and a storage tank

• evacuated tube collectors

• bi-axial incidence angle modifier extensions

• modelling specified energy load delivery

• in-tank gas boosting for single tank solar/gas systems

• load quality binning

• Stratified tank model with integral heat pump condenser
